pDKStreamline5-Blast is a compact vector with the Blasticidin S resistance marker. While optimized for protein expression, this vector can be used as a shuttle vector.
Features Include:
- Small size – backbone around 3.7kb
- High expression – The Elongation Factor 1a promoter is a strong, native, promoter. While not as strong as viral promoters, like CMV or RSV, the Elongation Factor 1a gene expression is upregulated during times of cellular stress from high protein expression loads (known as the unfolded protein response), which may lead to higher expression in bioreactors. It is expressed in nearly all cells, making this an excellent choice when you want a strong, natural promoter.
- Easy insertion of homology arms – rationally designed restriction sites allow for the easy insertion of homology arms for genomic targeting and/or viral LTRs for easy virus assembly
- Minimized vector backbone – reduces or eliminates unneeded sequence to be included in your expression system.
- Resistance to Blasticidin S is expressed in both prokaryotes and eukaryotes.
- Patent Pending
NOTE: The XbaI site is NOT blocked by methylation.
